Christmas

Hmmmm.... sometimes you get so behind on things, it is better to just cut your losses and move foreward. But, I did want to post a little about our Christmas so even though it seems like a long time ago, let's relive it shall we?
We had a quiet Christmas in Washington this year and I got my wish, It was white! It was nice but of course, we missed being all together with our families. We spent Christmas Eve with friends and had dinner with them. Then we went to the Christmas Eve candle light service.
Christmas morning we had a waffle breakfast and the kids put on a little "program". They sang and did actions to "Away in a Manger", "We Wish You a Merry Christmas", and of course, no song list is complete for Lauren unless it includes "The B-I-B-L-E".
Then of course, we opened presents.
Aidan was loving all his new train stuff.

Lauren liked her new soft blanket from Aunt Rachael.

She also enjoyed her stroller and baby stuff from G and G I. but wouldn't let me take a picture of her using it. This is a common look for her.

And this is the kitchen that Mike and I made for the kids. We had two small shelves we were no longer using, leftover white board from a shelf project, other leftover wood, and an old bathroom faucet. We picked up some free appliance knobs from a used appliance store, bought some hardware and put it all together. Mike did a great job assembling the whole thing and I used some leftover fabric to dress it up. I even knitted some fruit with leftover yarn from my stash.
The kids were convinced, they were expecting actual water to come out of the faucet:)
So far, they have been baking all of their toys in the oven.

A few days after Christmas, we met up with some friends at the Tacoma zoo for Zoo Lights.
That is Mike attending to the kids in the stroller.

I had my tripod along but it must have gotten bumped during this picture so it is a little blurry, but we loved this green and purple tree.

Here's Lauren, enjoying the lights.

Ok, now, besides a few dozen other things I have to catch up on, I am almost ready for it to be January:) I have noticed that other people seem to be a little behind this year as well so it appears I have good company.

I love the Christmas and holiday post. Like I said to Reb, it must be hard to pick our which pictures to put on. Those lights are really neat. Love to see Aidan playing with the train. He is smiling so hard.

Hey Guys, LOVING the kitchen, nice work and bonus points for choosing such cute fabric!

I'm thinking Jude needs to have a train playdate with Aiden. Jude will share his trucks, I promise :)
