A Rather Large Post

I guess that's what happens when you have long awaited family visitors come on a busy holiday weekend. We had a great time with Grandpa and Grandma Int Veld last week. We were out and about everyday and up late playing cards almost every night. We took advantage of nap time for sure!

One more fireworks picture from the show on the night of the 3rd

On Juy 4th we headed to Tall Ships Tacoma and got to go on this U.S. Coast Guard ship

Some light reading while we wait in line.

Lauren put banana in her hair earlier that day, it makes for great hair product if you like the stiff, scragly look.

Walk the plank! AAARRRRGGGG.............

Excited about sitting in the captain's chair which by the way, is not as glamorous as you would think.

This is the best transportation of all.

Saturday, we went to pick strawberries at Spooner's. We picked 15 lbs. Mom and I made 9 jars of jam, two strawberry rhubbarb pies and bags and bags of frozen strawberries and strawberry purie. Of course we saved some fresh ones to put on ice cream that night.

Mike showing dad "The perfect strawberry." A little healthy competition.

Gotta get just the right one.

Oooh, this looks like a winner.

Yep, deffinitely a winner.

I meant to take some pictures of the kids with Grandma and Grandpa after church on Sunday. I was at both services and when I came home from the second one, I discovered that Aidan slammed into the pavement with his forehead (again.) Thus the large welt.

Monday we went to Capital Lake for a walk, then up to the Capital, and then to the fountains.

I photoshopped the bruise/scrape out on this one.

Aidan was pretty hesitant to get wet.

Lauren was a little more daring.

Thanks for the visit G and G I!

Here's a few more pics.

Aidan's poor head! Sounds like you guys had a great time with your folks though! Awesome work with all the strawberries! That will keep berry season in your house all year long for sure!!
